A little 2016 World Series History:
The last time Cleveland won the World Series, Dewey led Truman in the poles (1948). The Chicago Cubs’ last title was 13 days after the first Model T car was completed (1908). No player is obviously alive from the last Cubs championship, or even the last to make a Series appearance in a Game 7 loss to Detroit in 1945. One player remains from the 1948 Cleveland team – 95 year old Eddie Robinson. While Chicago has a better season record (103-58) compared to Cleveland at (94-67), Cleveland retains home field advantage with an American League win of the 2016 All-Star Game. Game one is in Cleveland tonight at 8:08 EST. Oh, and at 7:30 tonight the Cleveland Cavaliers will be raising their 2015-2016 World Championship banner and receiving their player rings right next door to the Ballpark. Cleveland is also home to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Needless to say, the “LAND” will be “Rockin” tonight.
